Miami Heat Fans and the Angry Jabba Rant

My question is simple how many of the "so called " fans of the heat are true fans? Matter of fact how many of them are even fans of the game? This is with any good sports team people like the team winning! I got told I only like the bulls because of MJ! So if I was a bandwagon douche then I shouldn't like the bulls anymore because MJ doesn't play anymore! I like the bulls for the history and style they play! As Brandon knows my favorite player is Deng! End note I hate you fake fans

  1. I thnk most Miami Heat fans are either bandwagon jumpers, or just fans of LeBron. Along the same lines, I dislike the Heat because of LeBron. His latest comments about Jason Terry really made me angry, I think that might deserve it's own post. I applaud you for being a Bulls fan to this day, if the reason you like them is MJ... I think the heart of your issue is that most people who talk about the NBA are only "casual fans" of the NBA. Most Heat and Laker fans are casual fans because they are "cool" and (somewhat) successful. But the biggest thing, is that they're ALWAYS on tv any time somebody says the word basketball.

  3. I won't hate on someone for being a fan of a team, as long as they are a true loyal fan to that team. I know way too many people (I won't mention names) that claim that they are a fan of BOTH the Heat and the Lakers.

  4. I'd have to agree. I think there are a lot of bandwagon Heat fans.. I'm not one of them however.. My favorite team has always been the Lakers, and we're talking since I was too young to even say basketball. Also, I'm a Bulls fan as well, even a fan when they drafter Kirk Hinrich (I say that to prove because I HATE Kansas.) Anyway, you can tell those whom are real fans, and those that aren't. Spence knows, I'm a legit fan of the teams I'll mention as such.. But if I have no dog in the fight, I'll cheer for an underdog any day!!

  5. I don't hate people for liking the Heat because they are fans of LeBron... I became a Celtics fan because of an individual player as well (Paul Pierce - although I should give Antoine Walker credit too, because I loved that dude, even though he's a fat, broke, bum now (last I heard))

  8. I enjoy Preston aka "The Jabba's" posts and comments. They are unfiltered, raw and reflect a pure voice of sports fans that you would hear debating at your local sports pub!

  9. LeBron's comment to JT were as unjustified as JT's comments to him in the past. Revenge sucks sometimes. I'm a huge JT fan as he went to U of A but I know the dude runs his mouth. If LeBron didn't fight back on little things like this, the media and public would continue to consider his uber-soft.

  10. I also agree that people should not be hated if they all of a sudden cheer for a new team because a new player or favorite player has gone there. I don't have a basketball personal experience, but from the moment Randy Moss came into the NFL, as a skinny tall kid myself trying to play WR at my school, I was sold as a Minnesota Vikings fan. At the time, a lot of close friends thought I was bailing on my true love, the sad Arizona Cardinals but really it was me just adding a new team to root for. Whenever the two played, I always resorted back to my roots with the Cardinals. For some reason, years after Randy left Minnesota, I still follow them and consider them my "#2 squad" so I can totally see how past MJ fans could still be Bulls fans to this day.

  12. Re: your Cardinals/Vikings dilemma. As long as you weren't cheering for the Vikings against your Cardinals, your friends were off their rockers. You have a freakin Az Cards tattoo! haha

I had a similar dilemma this year. During the Chiefs struggles, I had to find some team that was actually fun to watch. Otherwise, I would have completely lost interest in football. So I started watching the Packers (and enjoying it). I'll still probably cheer for the Packers this season (unless they were playing the Chiefs of course). I say cheer for whatever team and whatever players you like, because I'm gonna do the same thing. But that doesn't mean I won't roll my eyes a little when somebody tells me they're a "Miami Heat fan."

  13. Re: LeBron and that dunk and his trash talking on JET.
The more he runs his mouth, the more that target starts to grow on him. The Celtics are the team with nothing to lose now. LeBron on the other hand… be careful. As a fan, I want to see my team play the heat in the playoffs regardless of what round! Second thing, LeBron said he "reviewed the dunk and critiqued it"... who the eff reviews and critiques their dunks?????? It was a powerful dunk, but it wasn't even a great dunk. He finished a 4-on-1 fastbreak with an oop over a 6'1 guard. That's not a great dunk. Paul Pierce could have done that! I'm not even mad because it was against the Celtics... I just don't think he had to be a jerk about it. It is a trash-talking league and I get that. I would probably be excited if it were Jeff Green that did that to Mario Chalmers... and I know one of my all-time favorites LARRY LEGEND did his fair share of trash-talking. But Larry always did stuff with a half-smile and it was (kind of) jokingly. Jason Terry trash-talks like this. LeBron says things like this being 100% serious. He's a narcissist. Finally, I love that JET tried to defend that. Give me a team full of guys like that, Miami can keep LeBum.
